We visited Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior this summer by boat. A detailed narrative and 131-color photographs of our trip are available from

http://continuouswave.com/sail-logs/irnp2010/

For Great Lakes boaters who are suffering from the Winter blues, the narrative and photographs will give you some relief until Spring.

Well done. Brought back memories of doing it with my folks as a kid in the late 70's and early 80's.

Need to do it again with my kids.

Thanks for sharing the photos and daily logs ( even expenses ).
Its nice to that trips like that can be done in smaller boats. Someday I would like to go from Lake Erie up into the North Channel in a 24-30 footer.

Thanks again
Nate

It is a very long voyage from Lake Erie to Isle Royale. We took the first 600 miles of it by highway. I love having a trailerable boat.

Nate,
We trailered up to Tobermory then went across to the North Channel. Very easy trip in a small boat. Check it out sometime. http://www.thebrucepeninsula.com/tobermory/

Boataholic,
I saw you up on Erie a few years ago. I was the guy with the Mckee Craft dual console. It was a great boat. I buy and sell boats about every year or so. I now have a Slickcraft 23.5ss Hardtop.
I can't wait for late march for walleye on the reefs.

We did not fish for Walleye or other species during the trip to Isle Royale National Park.

We did not begin at Lake Erie. We trailered the boat to Copper Harbor. Then we crossed Lake Superior to Isle Royale.

The North Channel is located in Lake Huron. It is not a part of Isle Royale National Park. It is not in Lake Superior.
