]Hi There I live in the Northwest and I want to buy a center console 23-26 feet. These are the manufactures that I am interested in Grady,Parker,Contender,Regulator. I have a Grady 20' CC now and there are both Gradys and Parkers available here but I have never seen a Regulator or a Contender in the Northwest but have seen them on the east coast but have never been in one.
Any input you can give me would be helpful.
thanks

Hi, I would go on the websites of the manufacturers and see which boat shows they will be supporting in Jan-Feb.

Fly to one of the major boat shows and check them out. The few hundred dollars in airfare and hotel are peanuts in the grand scheme of buying a 50k-100k+ boat. It will certainly help you make the right decision for you. Plus it is fun.

That is a great idea but you cant tell much from the boat show. I have looked at all four of these boats but have only fished one of them.

The best way is too spend some time riding or fishing on one. Regulator and Contender make great boats. It might be helpful to know what kind of fishing you do...ie trolling, livebait, drifting. How far your runs are to fish, etc.
Reg and Cont have deep vee hulls that run softer and faster through a chop vs Grady or Parker, but are more unstable on the drift.
Another great hull for your neck of the woods is the Glacier Bay 26 Cat. That is where they originated but they went out of business and are now made by World Cat in NC.
All 4 boats you mentioned and the 2 cat hulls I mentioned are quality boats. Take your time and ride and decide. As mentioned the best thing to do is buy a plane ticket or try to network with someone on the net and hook a ride.
