What the hell was the point of your post then?

to help the OP with a sale, I made a similar post on another thread that got deleted. If he wants to sale he should merely take the advice into consideration. Otherwise he'll just keep "bumping bumping bumping" and I'll have to keep looking at this...
it is what it is

not with those handles you cant.
Thats bs. You wouldnt want someone doing that on your for sale thread. If he was trying to help a pm would have been much more effective.

he not bashing...hes just trying to help the guy SELL them. if the guy wants to SELL them...i agree hes going to have to come down a little OR post a great buy for both of them but put it in the add. i would think $ 250 for the pair shipped might get them sold. may be better to PM the guy for advice. I love the sx's..ive caught some stud fish on them:thumbsup:

That's price bashing.... PM him if you want to help him and let him decide if he wants to adjust the price.

It IS price bashing and will be earning the basher a short time out.
Call it threadcrapping, bashing, jumping on or whatever, the first thread on the page says:
A seller's asking price is never "too high." The price of anything for sale is between the seller and the buyer; if you're not the buyer, do not post in the thread expressing your displeasure with the seller's asking price. Price bashing may result in banning.

It was a asking price. Reletively speeking, I was not that far off. They are both freshly spooled, one with 50lbs Power Pro Specra and one with 25lbs Big Game and 50lb Power Pro Specra.
Make me an offer if you want them. The price is lowered to $225.00 for both.

I've been looking around at these reels, is this model any good for grouper digging or are they more suited towards trolling on the surface? If they're any good at turning grouper I'd be very interested.

Little small for grouper. I say kings and small snapper. Baybe up to blackfins in open water for some sport.

This was caught on a 50 wide avet. I also have a 50 trex. If you are going after warsaw you need a 50 wide avet because you need the 57 pounds of drag. Trex has 116 pounds. I have 150 braid on the 50 wide amd 250 on the trex. (you have to turn them immediatley or you lose.)
If you are targeting smaller groupers then the 30 wide is awesome. I am partial to avet because I get em cheap and they have never given me a problem. Also very easy to service

For whatever its worth, I have one of those SX's and its a great reel. I've had it for 7 or 8 years now and its one of my favorite reels to use. I remember when I first actually used it I had a problem and thought to myself "oh great, what a pos I bought" (as they were new at the time). Sent it to AVET and got it back all serviced within 6 or 7 days (whatever it was, it was really fast). Came back with a spare and better handle, a little cover, some extra oil/grease and functioning perfectly. I have not had a single issue it since.
