The Columbia River Bar is expected to be closed for 48 hours. Current WX: Visibility: 7 miles, SEAS 16-18ft breaking surf expected to build to 20-22ft, Winds 30kts gusting to 35kts.
The Siuslaw River Bar closure is also expected to last approximately 48 hours with the bar conditions worsening. Current WX: Visibility 3nm, Winds: 25kts gusting to 40kts, Seas: 18ft breaking surf expected to increase to 22-24ft.
I was thinking of taking my new 23' CC out for a spin, anyone want to come along? :jk:

I just did a check on the NOAA forecast -- Seas are predicted to be 30-35 feet by Sunday evening. The Columbia River Buoy 20 NM offshore has already recorded 19.7 feet waves, and they are building. Winds expected in excess of 65 mph on the N. Oregon / SW Washington coast. "Surf's up" !! By the way, the USCG rates the Columbia River Bar crossing as the most dangerous in the world.:thumbsup:
