Last season I heard a couple of guys on the VHF radio talking about a perch charter that runs out of Vermillion. I think they said it was $30/person and the boat supplied the bait. You were responsible for getting your fish filleted but everything else was paid for.

Does anyone know the name and/or phone number of this perch charter boat? Has anyone been on the boat? If so, what was your experience?

I am nursing a broken leg and I don't want to screw around taking my boat from East Harbor all the way to Vermillion to go perch fishing. I want to contact the charter to find out if they can accomodate me since I can't stand up to fish.

If anyone knows the name of this charter boat please post it so I can contact them.

Thanks,
Russ

We dock at a marina off the Vermilion (one "L") River and see plenty of charter boats and a head boat docked at the municipal docks in early Fall. You can call them at 440-967-7087.

You can also try calling John or Tom at Romps (440-967-4342) as they may also know as there are 5 or 6 charter boats that dock on the west side of the river across from Romps all season.

Lastly, there are charter boats docked on the river at Quaker Steak and Lube and Lube (440-967-3724) in fall and they may help you if the above options fail.

Russ,
Fisherman's Wharf from Port Clinton docks their big head boat - MISS CINDY in Vermilion. I believe it is $45 per person for these trips. They do as good as anyone on the perch and you can't beat the price. Good Luck if you make the trip!

OSU-Thanks for the phone number info I will call if nobody comes up with the name of the charter company I am looking for. I don't recall the name but I will know it if someone posts it.

Freebyrd- I had not thought about Ms Cindy, we see that boat all over the lake. Last year I was shocked to see the boat all the way down in the Vermillion area. I didn't think they docked the boat down that way, but thinking about it there is no way they could run that hog all the way from Port Clinton and back and still get in 8 hours of fishing.

Thanks so far for the info.

Russ

It's gotta be the Miss Cindy. As FreeByrd states, their HQ is Port Clinton. They run a top notch operation.
