I've had a family of gulls (like 20) decide they like my bow better than others. So after 2 weeks, I get out and scrub the hell out od the boat. I mean this stuff was caked on. So after the scrubbing, I spray with StarBrite bird and spider poop remover. no luck. still have bad stains
any suggestions as to what to do to remove the stains?

Don't laugh and I'm not joking, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and Windex.

Unfortunately the uric acid in the bird crap has etched into the gelcoat. Your going to have to use compund and then polish to resurface the gelcoat maybe even wet sand dependign on how deep the etching is.

Pressurer washer and SoftScrub might do the trick. Perhaps Snobol.

You might have a little luck with a product called "Spray Away". It's like Spray9 on steroids! Outside of that, On & Off is a last resort before getting into compounding, but be careful...it's acid.

A commonly avaiable marine cleaner "On and Off" works wonders if applied to a towel over the stains and allowed to soak for awhile, then simply wipe with a dishwashing scubber sponge, use gloves! and keep it away from your eyes.

perforate soda bottles just below the shoulder at the top of the bottle, and a couple of holes in the bottom, fill with mothballs, and create a large enough loop of mono fishing line to loop over your rails and pass the bottle through the loop, put the knot end of the fishing line in the neck of the bottle and screw it down, they really dislike the aroma, and with enough bottles any wind direction won't compromise your coverage. Use clear bottles, remove the labels, their less unsightly, the holes below the shoulder prevent water from entering bottle. Keep a 5gal bucket with a top for storage of the bottles when not in use, and keep it out of your cabin.

Straight bleach.
Does anyone else here think its funny that Starbright actually markets a "Spider and Bird" poop cleaner (that apprently doesnt work)? I think I am going to invent and market a pollen remover for gel coat.

Sno Bol is the same thing as Spray Away except it is not markerted towards the marine industry and costs a fraction. Only leave it on for a few minutes and use a stiff bristle brush and simply rinse away. Do not get it on any plexi glass! Don't ask how I know.

I gotta tell you, that spider poop cleaner really does work on spiders! I had a problem with these little purple/black droppings all over my helm area and seat covers. no matter what I tried, there would always be a little stain remaining. got htis spider/bird poop remover, one trigger pull on the spider droppings and bam! gone! white again. works well on small/fresh bird droppings too. this time I think its just too much. I literally have about a 6 x 4 sf area completely covered in poop. the teak pulpit, the windlass, the non skid deak area as well as the smooth deck area.

But I think a 12 gauge with some #8 trap load would work wonders as a preventative treatment. Damned Gulls ! ! ! ! Sorry about your issue, is it the boat in the signature line, if so, I thinks it's a beauty.

West Marine. The stuff is absolutely awesome! A little expensive, but one bottle will last you a good, long time...I recommend having running water going at the same time, because it's that strong...not acidic, just very strong. Good luck!

The starbrite spider/bird stain remover worked on my seats when nothing else would. In my case it was spider poop. Once the stain had dried and cooked on the seat nothing else would remove it.

You should have tried vinegar (acetic acid) becasue that is the main ingredient in Spider Away. Also the same ingredient in many of the salt removing products and a lot of other expensive "marine" cleaners.

Snow Bowl Toilet Cleaner...gets out anything. Don't let it sit on too long though...1 minute or so...

I swear by this stuff while detailing others boats and cleaning fish stains off my own boat. This is a must have for any boaters cleaning arsenal.

If the bird poop is berries, trust me; use wd40 and a toothbrush.
