I have no affliliation with this seller but wanted to pass this along to the fellow THT'ers that like these hulls as much as I do. If it was closer to me I'd find a spot to store it for a few years until I could work on it. Looks like a fairly original unmolested hull and great starting point for a project.

If you get it for free dump in 20k plus a lot of hours then you have a nice boat that is worth
10k--Maybe. My first boat was a 233

I am in the same quandry regarding a 1972 Chris Craft Lancer! Fortunately, my
wife informed me that there isn't much room to live on it--after she ditches me if I buy it.

Going back to the Formula---you can buy a nice 24 Albemarle--which is the same exact hull
for under 20k and eliminate all the pain.

Restoring a boat is not for everybody thats for sure! It can be expensive but doesnt have to be. I have no where near 20K in my boat and feel 100% confident in every aspect of my rig. I've run every wire, turned every screw and bolt, rigged every hose, bled every line, tightened every hose clamp on it but did spend about a year building it. A few of us (myself included) enjoy the satisfaction of saying we restored it and did all the work ourselves. I didnt want a boat payment and didnt want to pull 20K out of savings. I'm a DIY'er and love fixing/improving upon things. I probably wont restore another one for a few years but have enjoyed every minute of it. I say go for the Chris Craft project! I love Albes and looked at one for 15K before deciding on restoring my 233. The Albe was going to need some minor work like fuel lines and gas tank but definitely would have been on the water sooner.

I'd buy it if I didn't already have one. I have less than 7k in mine. I didn't have to replace my floor though.
