I would like some input if anyone has these bay boats. Is there a big difference in the ride betweeen the sea Hunt xp 21 and bx 22 pro? Thses boats seem to be well built for the price and I don't want to spend a lot. I fish Empire and lake pontchartrain but pull some water skiers only sometimes. I mostly fish but want a boat I can use for pleasure.
The link is below if someone wants to see them.

I thing the larger boat with F250 would do fine. More power the better

I have an '10 BX22 that I love. Yammi f150 is plenty of power (tops @47-48 on speedo), does everything well which is all you can ask for in a bay boat and looks great. 22 is beamier which is what I wanted.

My step dad has a 2010 BX22 with F150 as well. Great boat, I agree its very well laid out. Catches alot of fish. Feels small on the water compared to my 26 CH but so do all bay boats. lol

both are great. I have XP-21 and love it. BX22 is slightly heavier, and a touch wider, with more bow flare = a little drier, therefore a little better for offshore. both boats are great. XP-21 has bow cast net bucket/storage, which BX22 does not have... sounds minor but this is a great feature they should make standard on all their bay boats..F150 is perfect and plenty for either one, unless you're fishing tournaments!

If you don't mind, what is the pricing on these boats?

I was wrong my friend has the 21 xp. Two weeks ago we ran from Long Beach to isle la pete at 3800 rpm and 18 mph. He doesn't seem to think anything is wrong with that, I didn't say anything. My 21 bay boat with 200 ox66 will go twice as fast as his at the same rpm. Is he incorrectly propped, or just that underpowered?

dht, I think he was quoted 28k three years ago brand new, it is a pretty nice boat imo.

Sounds like he may have an issue... my XP-21 with F150 does 25-27 at 3800. Tops at 46 trimmed up. prop is 18x14.25 Reliance. I think the 150 is the perfect motor for this boat, but i'm also not a speed freak!

Does anyone run one with a 200hp? Curious as to perfformance and also if the extra weight causes any issues.

I am getting 27-30 at those RPM's something isn't right with his setup. I know to get my boat running at best I have to lower the tabs all the way down and trim up the motor to about half the trim gauge. That will get me around 45-48 mph. I have broke 50 once or twice depending on the load.

I have actually owned both in the past year. I have the 2012 bx22 pro now. I must say it rides much better than the xp because the trim tabs are under the boat. Has almost twice the storage room in the bow compartments. Much more deck space in the bow also. Had 150 Yamaha on both boats. They both run 47 to 48. The BX only weighs 100 pounds more. But for that extra 1 foot in length it's way more boat for your money. I paid 29,000 for mine plus taxes in Wilmington N.C with a very nice trailer and ice blue hull color and rocket launcher seat and washdown hose. I get compliments on the boat all the time. The guy in N.C. Has the best buys on seahunt boats. I called everywhere he was the cheapest
