Google Renegade Mike, Dream Weaver, Red Drum in that order for crusiers.
www.gordobanks (http://www.gordobanks) for panagas. Chame Pino is his best captain.

Watch out for all the salesputz captains at the marina that hustle to get you on their boat. They are more saleputz than fishermen. Heard a horror story where a fishing charter turned into a 8 hour time share presentation.
I fish Dreamweaver and highly recommend them. Ramone the captain is top notch. He captained the top dollar team at last years Bisbee black and blue and also the Bisbee East Cape just a few weeks ago. He has a 32 Blackfin that you can charter. He also is the private captain for one of the top private guys in Cabo. Pretty reputable combo.
Good Luck.

I'm going down 9/11 and have booked a trip with www.flyhooker.com. The boat is a 31 Bertram and owned by an american couple living in Cabo. They also set me up with a panga for another day. When I did my search I found prices as high as $1200/day.
Flyhooker was recommended to me on another fishing site. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the recommendation - PSW and 2gogs1949
It looks like the 1/2 days are running around $500 with a full day ranging from $800-2K.
How far do you need to run off Cabo to get to dolphin/tuna?
Do you need to run farther to get to striped marlin?
This is coming from a Jersey guy who has to run 50-100 miles to get to tuna/marlin.
I appreciate your input.

The guys I recommended are a lot better than Pisces, believe me.
I am headed down fishing Dreamweaver on the 26th. Tough to leave home in our peak summer season to fish elsewhere but I want to experience Cabo during a time other than the normal end Nov early Dec that I normally go to fish Striped Marlin. A big Blue or Black is the hope. Can't wait.
Honest you should call Dreamweaver. If they are booked they will refer to another top notch outfit like Renegade Mike.

I have fished Cabo a bunch of times with my private boat. Cannot recomend a charter but can comment on the distance offshore necessary to catch palegics. Often they are close. In May tuna and wahoo were at Cabeza de Ballena in sight of the Cabo harbor. Last fall big tuna were at the inner Gordos about 8 miles from San Jose del Cabo marina. Medium sized blue marlin were at the outer Gordos about 12 miles from the San Jose harbor.
There is a large charter panga fleet at the San Jose harbor. If you want to economize and are willing to put up with a little discomfort, that is the way to go.

Got back last night. Fishing was not what I had hoped for, I was fly fishing mostly.
Flyhooker delivered as expected. The panga Capt worked his arse off to get me a rooster on a fly. Wife got 2 on live bait. Bait was scarse which didn't help. Threw a fly at one marlin, he wasn't interested.
The day on the Bertram was ok. Trolled all day. One marlin hooked up and a bunch of 25 lb dorado.
Both captains worked hard to put fish in the boat. I will use www.flyhooker again.

We fished in Cabo in 2008 and used Bajaboy Sportfishing and had a great time and successful trip. We are going back this week marlin fishing and have booked the same guys. They are some what of a smaller operation with five or six boats, but great guys with mates who can speak English.

http://abycharters.com/ I use Helio Garcia @ ABY Charters every time I go to Cabo-this year was my 10th year there. I always charter a boat by myself and this past October, I had four - four rod knockdowns one day and took home 100lbs of Yellowfin Tuna between the two trips. I also catch and release a Striped Marlin every year.Check Helio's website and you'll see your's truely squatting a 275lb Stiped marlin. His prices are very fair, I go solo on a 28' Californian for $450 which includes the License $20, bait $20, charter fee $350, and tip $60. Make sure you tell Helio that Paul (Pablo) from N.J. sent ya and he'll be sure to hook you guys up with the right captain. Be sure to specify what species of fish you want to target. Good luck!

Wondering how your trip went!
I was down in November for Thanksgiving and had a great time. My so got a 175lb Striped Marlin and I got a nice Yellowfin. Enjoyed seeing the Tuna Pens and the commercial boats feeding them.

Just got back from there Christmas week. Went with Dreamweaver, totally awesome. Nice boat, captain, first mate, equipment. Totally awesome. Caught seven marlin, 110#, 120#, 2 @ 130# 140# 150# and 180#. Looking to go again this year. You won't be disappointed.
jgtbullfrog- Congrats on the trip. I just fished them over the past 5 days and got home late last night. I know Jaime and Ramon well. They are a great operation. Stripers were a bit slow and managed a few but found some nice Yellowfin, Yellowtail, and even Rooster and Sierra. Dreamweaver is a solid charter out of Cabo for sure.
