Impressive, but I gotta admit, man do I hate seeing boats owned/built by Americans and flagged outside of the country.

When money flows into the USA from other countries that is a good thing. It's the other way around that is causing us problems...

couldn't agree more! the construction of cakewalk has helped (if not been completely responsible for) keeping derrecktor in business during the last few years. it is a truly impressive yacht that is helping to solidify America's role in the world's superyacht industry.

Who is the owner?
Flying the "Stars and Bars" on a yacht is a major pain in the ass.
Most of the yachts you see cruising the US (owned by Americans) are Red flagged, Marshall Islands, or Cayman. And they do it for good reasons..
Not sure if they passed the US tax cap on yachts to get more to register under the US flag.
Still, they can only employ American crew. American crew are often looked down upon in the industry, and this can only help them find work.
For the record, I'm American and employed on a foreign flagged yacht.

You may know your yachts but you don't have a clue what the "Stars and Bars" flag is.:bashhh:

It appears to be a Cayman flaged vessel.

Or possibly a Bermuda flag

We have a new fireboat in Hyannis paid for by homeland security and built in Canada. Doesn't make sense to me.

I sell to the Government and some solicitations allow percentages of import products or possible in this case it was an equal or better to an existing vessel.
Not uncommon.
Ever notice you see Hondas on USCG vessels but only Mercs on Homeland Security? Same payment office, just a different checkbook.
