Marine Electronics Forum - Another DSC Question!

I know there have been a few posts on connecting a DSC radio to a GPS unit but most of the focus has been on getting the GPS data INTO the DSC radio....

I am focused on the reverse.... I want to send GPS Data to my Lowrance 527c and plot the data on its screen.

It would be nice to poll a friend radio for his position and see it on my GPS screen.

Here are my units:

Lowrance 527c and a Uniden Oceanus DSC

I have it currently set up to send my current position to the DSC radio and that works great.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would be glad to be wrong, but scanning the online manual leads me to believe that DSC functions are not available on this device. It doesn't know what to do with the information.;?

It's a function of the plotter and the NMEA interface. The Oceanus only has a gps in interface. You can't get it to show mmsi's on your plotter. Don't feel too bad, I installed an Icom 304 and discovered it wouldn't do it, so I replaced it with a Uniden 525 which works fine with my garmin plotters (3210/3010). Before you scrap the radio, check to see if your plotter will support mmsi's on the screen. If not, you'll have to change the plotter as well.
