Marine Electronics Forum - Lowrance chart similar to Bluechart Ches MUS006R

Hello,

Looking for some recommendations on charts for Lowrance HDS-7 for Ches Bay/Pax River areas.

My Garmin 188 died and I plan to purchase a Lowrance HDS-5. I took a look at an HDS at the local vendor, but the detail on the maps seems to be lacking compared to the detail on the NOAA charts and my old Garmin with the MUS006R bluechart chip.

I guess my question is for those that used the MUS006R chart, does the Lowrance charts provide similar or better detail for the Pax River and Ches Bay areas? What version of built in chart for the HDS-5?
* Lake Insight?
* Nautic Insight?

What about a base model HDS-5 and a Navionics 634+ Chart?

Just looking for similar or better detail than the MUS006R Garmin chart provides. Thanks for any first hand comparisons.
