Is important to check the crane slings before lifting the boat :)

That wasn't the slling failing, that was the moron who decided where to put them failing! FWIW, the rule on boat slings is; If it doesn't stretch (under load) they need to be replaced.

How could someone so incredibly stupid be responsible for such a dangerous procedure and such expensive merchandise ? ? ? ? ?
The person that placed those straps should be bagging groceries somewhere. Then again, they'd probably place the eggs on the bottom of the bag.

If you notice on lift 2 they are using two cranes and when they pivot towards each other the straps start sliding inward decreasing their span enabling the yacht to fall.
Had it been one crane only or even two using a spreader bar odds are it would never of happened...

Or just secure the slings to the vessels hardware so they can't slide.

I'm sure that was in my home country.... in the original video you can hear the guy filming saying... no lo puedo creer, no lo puedo creer.... i can't believe it, I can't believe it...
I remember that it was a brand new boat for some arab, and the blame was being shifted between the crane -shiping company and the boat shipyard...

I think so (the hull hit something before falls), not only capsized :)
