I have an HDS-8 with LWX-1 weather module. Everything worked fine end of last year. Have had boat stored for winter and installed new broadband radar and ethernet expansion port, It works fine. Called sirius they said everything should be working. When I search for the weather sattelite it says " searching for lowrance weather module" stays on black screen indefiniately until I switch it. Tried diagnostics as well, it does the same thing. Both green lights on the LWX box are lit. Any Help?

When you first power the LWX on does the status indicator blink 3 times then stay on? If so then you need to check the network cable. Its probably loose on one end.

Jim,
I checked the cables from the antenna and from the black box to the unit with an ohm meter, all wires checked continuous? It acts like the HDS is not recognizing the LWX. When i check sirius status it just stays on that screen where it used to show my subscription is active, etc but now it never finds the sat. I rember the light comes on one time, ie it doesn't blink. Also, i took the cover off antenna (basically fell apart when i took out the mounting screws and one light is green and the other seems to pulsate on and off consistantly. Is there any way the head unit would not recognize the lwx, ie a setting or something. I soft booted, still no signal on HDS.
Thanks for your help as always.
While i got you, what is the best (most economical but reccomended) underwater led you have for a 25' CC with twins?

I recommend Ocean LED Amphibian underwater lights typically. A little pricey but they consistently work. I personally made the mistake of buying cheap ones. After a bunch of frsutration with them not working I finally ended up with holes on my transom that need filling.

I am not aware of any lights on the antenna. The lights you need to look at are on the little brain box. If one of them is blinking then you have a problem. The manual explains what the blink sequences mean. To continue trouble shooting please answer my first q in the post above. Another step is to reload the latest lowrance software. You can also call Lowrance to see what they say.
