Anyone knows who makes their spinning reels? I received one of their catalogs recently and have to say that their spinning reels look decent. 10 or 11 bearings and ported spools. They really look a lot like a stella but at a fraction of the price. The 7000 Surf model looks like it might make a decent jigging reel and the 4000 Signature reel could be a good inshore reel. Of course, there's no information about drag ratings, weight or gear ratio. But, for $99 or less, it might be worth a shot.

Like much of their other stuff, though, it looks like it's designed for someone that might go fishing once or twice a year but want to look like they know what they're doing.

Anyone? Judging by the handle styles, I'd guess either Daiwa or Okuma but was wondering if anyone might have some inside information.

I believe they are okumas. I have a couple that came as outfits with rods and reel on rod cases. Good reels, no problems after 3 years. Beans is a great outfit. Their marketing approach used to be that you're only suppoesed to use them when its too windy to fly cast but I think they're starting to lighten up a little.
