Do you want to have a separate forum section for flyfishing? Flyfishing is done in both fresh and salt water. Does it merit its own forum?

I'm an avid saltwater flyfisherman but in general I agree with the others that a separate forum is probably not needed. There doesn't seem to be a huge number of fly swatters on THT.

I wouldn't mind having a subsection somewhere for it. I flyfish in salt and fresh, but my interest here would be discussing saltwater patterns for offshore use... I don't think there is too much freshwater action on this board; stick to salt

I would like to see it. Alot of other FF sites just die off it seems, THT has the staying power.

One click gets you to FF forum, the next click you choose salt or fresh. I would guess that the fresh water doesn't do well because many fresh water FFisherman dont have boats, so maybe just salt at this time.

The key is participation from the FF charter folks - maybe waive the restrictions for charter posting?

Just some thoughts but I would definitely visit.

make THT one stop shopping -

I fly fish some and if it was added I would most likely go.

I'm one of those guides who do a lot of fly fishing with my anglers - but it's just one more way to get after the fish... Dedicated saltwater fly stuff on the internet is a very iffy proposition. Even the sites dedicated to it struggle to survive. I'll let others vote on the subject and continue to post fly stuff if appropriate...

What is the downside..... none? If you don't want to participate in it, don't click on it.

I've been saltwater flyfishing for years and have learned a great deal by reading and posting questions on sites that have Flyfishing forums. I've purchased gear and found some new techniques...

So what's the harm.... ;? ... I'd spend more time there than many of the other forums that are already up....

I haven't fly fished in a while but it would be great if there was a forum just for it. !!!!!!

Why not?? It's another source of free information. If you don't like flyfishing don't go in that forum. Pretty simple.

I think it is good. That is how I started tying my first fly at 9 years old and today I craft many lures

Yes, I would like to see it. I am an avid fly fisherman and would be willing to help with any advice on fly casting, etc. But I agree there probably would not be a huge amount of posts on it.

Having a love for fishing is the key, no matter how you go about it, whether deepsea fishing, bottomfishing or working a fly. In fact, a lot of fishermen that don't flyfish don't realize just how difficult it really is. Hull Truth is a group of people sharing a common love for the ocean and the joy we derive from it.

Bring it on, if you don't wanna look at it, then don't, plain and simple....<><

I would like to see it. I am just getting into saltwater fly fishing and that would be a great opportunity to learn some stuff from the guys that have been doing it for a while.
