Hi Hulltruth

The only boat i've ever owned has been a small aluminum boat with a 9 horse.

I am looking to buy a center console to fish around cape cod and on a lake in maine where we have a camp...

I don't think I'll be looking to go on the outside much as I am not that comfortable in the ocean yet...I like to cast artificials to stripers, blues, bonito, and largemouth bass.

I'd like to find something under 10K for sure and closer to 5K would be better...

Please help with any suggestions, etc.

I would recommend looking into at C-Hawk's, Mako's and Aquasport's. My dad had a 17ft Aquasport CC with a 90hp Johnson. Great little boat.

I would really advise getting a deep-v hull with a shallow draft.
