the state of alabama has created a breeding ground for red snapper and now they will not let us catch them. crew of 5 left billy goat about 6:00. fished out to about 38 miles and must have caught 200. every where you stopped, public, private, rigs, they are every where. caught them on squid, rubys, vienna sausage, beer can top, bread, anything you would put in the water. don't even think about catching anything else on some of these spots.. make sure you keep all body parts inside of the boat. those things are hungry...

Yes, but they're endangered so be careful not to hurt them.

But Sako you dont see the "big picture".
By decreasing limits and seasons we will decrease the number of charter boats and recreational fishermen. This will decrease the amount of artificial reefs being deployed. Over time the reefs in place will disintergrate thus reducing habitat. Reduced habitat will reduce the numbers of snapper, returning the fishery to a more natural state with stock numbers closer to historic levels. Mission complete!!! :roll

we did manage to get 5 limits of b-liners, but where caught on one spot, and a handful of triggers. usually the snapper where all over it on the fall. good thing theres a shortage of them.

Yeah I agree. The sheer number of snapper are either running off or eating the b-liners, trigger, small grouper etc.

We may have to start using them for bait, hell a Snapper will eat anything that don't eat him first!!!

Does anybody, except me, realize the government has imposed itself into every aspect of our lives? From our health care to our recreational fishing? What's up with that?
