Hey guys I'm going upto the Parrot Head weekend at Sunda River April 10th and 11th, where is the best place to rent skis for 2 days. Sunday River wants $80 for the 2 days. Does anybody know a store in CT or MA that rents them cheaper?

thanks

Right on the road to Sunday River: http://www.skidemo.com/

Better call to be sure they are still open after Easter, however.

I second the access road shops... I think one is called Great American Ski or something like that, you can Google it.

I spent last weekend up there and it was amazing - 50 degrees and sunny. Flying Monkey was insane.

Have fun...

dont know where your located?? But Crossed Sabres in Raynham is good to deal with and have good equipment. We rent the kids stuff for the season rather than buy since they grow out of stuff in 1 season, and have always been happy with them. The 3 places on the access road are good too, if you would rather deal with it up there?

Your talking water skis right??? Snow is all gone, just drink away the weekend and save your money.

The few times I rented skis, I always found it easier to have them with me rather than getting them on the way to the slope.

Not just yet...!!

I went riding at Wachusett Mountain in central MA this past Thursday night (3/18), and conditions were excellent. I counted only three small bare spots all night. Nice bumps on the Smith Walton run.

I'm off to Sunday River this weekend (3/26-28), I'll report back with conditions when I return.

Planning a Tuck's run in late April as well.

Just got home from three days at SR...

I was hoping it would be warm and sunny again, but it was 17 degrees on Saturday morning at the base. This trip was reserved for teaching my 4-year-old how to ski, so we didn't get to our normal runs on Jordan and Oz.

It was bulletproof everywhere. Rock hard, thin cover, cold, windy, and zero snow off-trail.

Took the kids tubing Friday night, skied/rode Saturday, caught the fireworks at South Ridge on Saturday night, then blew off skiing/riding today and caught the Firefighter Race and Chili Cook-Off while the kids went tubing again.

If you get warm weather, you should be OK, but otherwise it was like a vertical skating rink. Not fun on a board.

Our friends rented at Great American and got nice Volkls and Rossi boots... they said they were comfortable and they were fitted in no time at all.

Have fun... have a beer at Suds for me.

Here's a shot of the Chili Cook-Off, the tubing park, and the Firefighters Race on Tempest taken from the White Cap lodge... this should give you an idea of the coverage.

Look under the Tempest lift...:(

Good the sooner the snow melts the sooner they can open the trails for Biking.

I was up at loon thursday-sat. Thursday was perfect spring conditions and it was about 50 or so. Friday and saturday were bone chilling and the trails turned very icy and fast.

I hear it is raining up there today, and trails are closing fast. They won't be open on the 11th according to the staff. They think they will close next week.

SR is further north, so may be open longer, but you will definitely be pushing the seasons end.
