I just read something that said only June and September will be open for black seabass in NJ???

Could this really be true??

Unless things change, that is the current federal season. Looks like if we are really super good Chuck Schumer supporters we may get June 1st to September 30th.

It would be nice if they had 2 seasons for them lets say June 1st to September 30th and maybe December 1st to March 1st. this way we can fish for the giants in the cold months and the party boats can run longer but still get the summer months. i am no expert by any means so i do not know how they would sort out size regulations but it would be nice if something like this happened.

all i can think about is the HUNDREDS of small seabass I caught last summer in Barnegat Inlet.

Ive caught A LOT while throwing pink fin-s at the ICW markers for weakies in august in Barnegat Bay. They were between 6 and 10 inches long.

there were some days in the inlet where 2 of us caught over 100 fish in less than 2 hours- all abt that size.
