Is there any worthwhile tow service east of Chatham? Looks like the Tow Boat franchise in Bass R. is the closest, and I'm not sure they'd be worthwhile for service from the BB to the BC. Who do folks out of Ryder's Cove, Chatham Harbor, Stage Harbor and Harwichport use? Each other?

friends and family around here mostly.. usually, someone out there will give you a hand, or at least relay a message to someone who will.

I looked into it a couple years ago. My opinion then was that it wasn't worth it. Someone will help you out there. Maybe me if I'm close. Two years ago I watched Pogytown (21 Steiger) pass me while being towed in. I was going 26 Knots! I think they saved twenty minutes by being towed. Of course they were towed buy a 35 Everglades.

Bill Coughlin has the Towboat US operation in Bass River. He has gone to the BB many times for tuna guys, etc. He towed my SeaCraft home from the ACK Boat Basin when I blew my engine, had the $99 policy and it cost me nothing extra.

Billy has saved my ass a few times! Best 129 for unlimited tows!! and he is one hell of an operator! (cuttyhunk to bass river...that was fun....)

Another vote for Bill, he is a class act.

I've known Billy for years and can't recommend him highly enough. He and his two sons are great. His son John actually works for me now.
