Has anyone been to the boat show in the dome yet?
I haven't been to the Boat show at the Superdome in a few year's, and seeing how sucky the economy is, I was wondering how this year's show compares to the one's from a few year's ago, me and the wife were considering going tonite and were contemplating whether or not to go as we have heard very little in the way of advertisement about it, Is it worth the hour and 20 minute drive to go?
Thank's in advance..

I went yesterday after work. The number of boats seems the same as in the past. Most of the local boat dealers are there. The floor of the Dome is full.
I'm not sure I would make the trip solely for the boat show, unless I was in the market for a new boat. Now, if I was spending the afternoon in New Orleans or going to the show before going to dinner, that might be worth the ride. My two cents.

We went Friday night and I thought it was great. Some awesome boats and friendly vendors. I signed up for Sea Tow and got 2 extra months free. Looked like some nice deals on the new boats - still real glad I bought a lightly used one. One vendor had already sold a 38 Fountain with trip Verados? with a sticker of $299 (no, not a Wendy's combo  ). He said he'd sold two Fountains already and was about to sell a third so he was happy! Lots of bay boats which are my favorite. I WANNA POWER POLE!!! :( Some motors had double warranty (6 yrs) free if you bought it now. Plus they had Twiggy the skiing squirrel!!!! :o For $6 bucks a head and kids free it was at real deal and a good time.

Boat show wasn't bad at all, like was said earlier, the dome floor was full. It was mostly bay boats, the only larger boats were Robalo, Fountain, Everglades, Contender and a few others. hardly any tackle vendors at all, but if you were in the market for a bay boat it was a pretty good show.

I went Sat night. Not too crowded. Plenty of boats, not much else.
As usual, it's basically a bay boat show.
A dealer friend of mine said thay he did sell a few boats.
They were probably 3 dozen leftover 2007 models of various brands at the show.

It was a pleasure meeting you guys at the show. I spent the whole morning working on Fountain orders and didn't get a chance to call you today. I will call you tomorrow to follow-up on the questions you guys had for the factory reps. Thanks again for coming by.

Well we decided to make the jaunt to the Dome sat nite and I was pleasently suprised to see that there were in fact so many vendor's there..
I got to see a bunch of dealer's that I hadn't seen in 12 year's when I used to work for a boat dealership..
Met a few friend's I hadn't seen in quite some time as well, all in all it was a good evening for us even if we didn't buy a boat.
Glad to see that you guy's sold a few boat's Jon.
