Back when I was a kid I remember my friends Dad spraying a chemical on his aluminum trailer letting it sit, spraying it off and it looked like new. Does anyone know what this might be and where I can get it? I am assuming it is some type of acid wash.

I think its called phosphoric. Home Depot sells it and its for removing rust on metal surfaces and paint prep. Try a small spot first.
