If you are willing to take a guy from SE Mass - Marine Safety Consultants in Fairhaven has several good recreational marine surveyors.

Buddy helped me not buy a Egg Harbor 10 years ago. Very good surveyor, told me in the parking lot to run, don't walk from the boat, serious bulkhead rotting, mucho blisters and poor engine performance.

I'd use him in a heartbeat.
