I hear that sheepshead, pompano, bluefish and flounder are all biting like mad around the gulf shores (http://bookit.com/us/alabama/gulf-shores/) coast. How far out are you planning on heading?

Around the pass the sheephead and a few bull reds are being caught, Work the jetties with the tide

Isn't their grouper in the passes?

If there are any , Grouper are out of season until April 1st.

No grouper in the pass. If he is going to be fishing from land, he might get lucky enough to hook up on a bull red. Most probable catch will be bluefish, catfish and sheephead,and possibly a speckled trout or two.
