I am pretty new to offshore fishing and have been looking for a break in weather and have noticed that on many occasions Reefcast and NWS seem to have a pretty big diffrence in forcast. Who is more accurate for the Gulf's weather. I have seen reefcast call for 1 to 2 and NWS call for 3 to 5 footers....

Always remember to look at Reefcast Ensemble as well. It will tell you just how accurate the forecast is at any given time. It is just like a hurricane tracking chart. When the forecasts (represented by different colored lines with black being the most recent) are all over the place, the forecast is up for grabs. When the lines come together in a perfect rainbow, take it to the bank. Also remember that reefcast is a wind wave forecast and does not take 3rd party systems into account (nor does NWS or NOAA). But to answer your question, Reefcast by a long shot it lets you be the weatherman.

Reefcast has been dead on for my last 6 or 7 trips. This doesn't stop me, though, from checking other forecasts just to be safe.

Reefcast. It's more accurate and detailed down to the hour. We've been faithful users since 2004.
