Many years ago I was told that Bull Sharks would come into the tribs of the Pax river and feast on Skates and Rays.
Does anyone know if this was/is true?
If still true, where?
A Bull is the only inshore shark that I haven't caught yet.

Yeah, I remember all the talk on SOL, fished with many of those guys on the shore since the 80s.
Problem is, Poppy got that Bull 25 years ago.
I wonder if they are still around, haven't heard anything in years.
I often pass the area where the Bulls supposedly tore up the Rays every evening and haven't seen anything. That was just inside Back Creek behind Solomons.
Not sure about sharks but I live on the Potomac, across the river from St Marys Island and we get some dolphins every summer.

That big bull was supposedly caught in the area where we do most of our fishing/boating, the mouth of the Nanticoke river where it empties into the Tangier Sound. There's a campground there that we've been going to for over 30 years.
We've never seen any sharks, or even heard anyone speak of seeing any in the area. I'm a member of another forum that is mostly Chesapeake Bay fishing and some of the guys on there claim to have seen bulls in different areas of the Chesapeake.
If they used to come up to feed on the skates and rays, then i don't know why they still wouldn't considering there is more of them now than ever.
Last year while at the campground, i watched a huge ray swim around the end of the pier and rock jetty for about 10 minutes.

I wish we had something as athletic as the Black Tips, they are a blast to catch!
Way up at the top of the Chessie near Northeast, MD a 9 or 10 footer (Bull) was caught in pound nets a lot of years ago. They are there, just haven't seen them. I was told that folks would gather to watch 'em plow the Rays every evening. I pass that alleged spot every time I go out, have seen no evidence.
Gonna' have to do some exploring this coming season...
