OK so this is my second thread in 3 days...but I am new to this and don't want to mess up this boat.

I have a 17.5 foot Bayliner with the engine above (Alpha 1 drive) and I run it in salt water. I have been told to disconnect the one blue hose (looking towards the stern, it is the one on the right) connect the hose to it and run water for about 10 minutes, engine off. Are there any other procedures I should be doing for the motor and drive (besides this and hosing it down from the outside?)

Thanks,

The Newbie

I would just spend a few dollars and get the ear muffs for the lower unit. Hook it up to a hose, start the water, THEN the engine.. run it at idle for a few minutes (5 +/-).. that should take care of satl water.. I also do this in fresh or brackish water as well.
