Hey Guys,

I have a friend that is looking to move to this area and has never been there. I thought I would ask the honest THT group about the area and where to live. He is thinking of trying to stay in NC (Elizabeth City/Currituck) and travel into Va. (Norfolk) area.

What are the pro's and con's of either area? He is looking to be as close to the coast as possible without breaking the bank. I want to help him out so I will have a cool place to visit.:)

Thamks for any replies.

i live in the great bridge area of chesapeake and have for most of my life. Its a pretty decent area, and if hes looking to live in virginia with convienient access to nc then he should checkout the great bridge/grassfield area. The traffic in the area is pretty bad, however.

any specific questions or things hes looking for?

I grew up in chesapeake/great bridge. I now live in currituck/moyock and prefer it here much better because of the land and water access. There really inst much to do in currituck in the winter so great bridge is were you will be at night for the bars and to hang out. Traffic in the morning isnt bad if you have to be to work early.

I live in Suffolk Va. but my office is located in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake Va and I grew up in Chesapeake. Does he have any children in school and if so around what age?

I live in Great Bridge and ditto what everyone has said. Not that it's great right now, but emplyment possibilities will be better in Chesapeake/Norfolk/VB area. Definitely more crowed than NE North Carolina but not bad by comparison to larger cities.

Elizabeth City is nice, but employment opportunities are limited.

I fish mainly VA and can get to NC as often as I want trailering my boat.
