I have never fish the tunnel before but a client wants to put a trip together for the coming weekend.

We are all from Maryland. What license do we need (non-resident 5 day) is that for the boat or individual persons?

Do they use planer boards down there?

Where is a good place to stay on the Virginia Eastern Shore side?

Thanks

Maryland bay boat license is accepted in VA as long as you are in the bay.

We stay at the Kiptopeake Inn.

Most people fish the structure of the bridge and or eel. You can pull planer boards in the open waters.

You can ask they guys over at www.cbangler.com (http://www.cbangler.com) for more info too.

Would you need a VA boat sticker for Ocean water then? Where is the bay/ocean defined? Thanks;?

You will be fine with your Maryland sticker as long as you don't go east of Cape Henry. If you are striper fishing you won't want to be in the ocean anyways. Stay tight to the tubes and near the islands. Also plan on spending some time after dark at the high rise span of the cbbt dropping some eels. The cbbt is truly a great structure, maybe the best anywhere around for holding fish and large numbers of fish year round.
