Mid Atlantic and Chesapeake Bay - how to power load with rollers?

Hey everybody, when I first got my boat 7 years ago I tried power loading it and it would just roll right back off the trailer because of the rollers, It didn't much matter at the ramps where I usually launch from, I actually became faster at launching then most people that power load, but when I went to the CBBT last winter I had a lot of trouble doing it the usual way because the dock is so much higher, the people that power load there have a big advantage..Does anyone power load with a roller trailer have any tips on how to do it easily? Im thinking maybe I could buy some guide ons and try backing the trailer farther into the water? thanks!!

If you are talking about driving on the trailer, then have your engine trimmed enough not to hit the ramp with the lower unit, have someone at the bow stop with only a little cable / strap off the winch reel. Power onto the trailer, HAVE YOUR HELPER STAND CLEAR!!!!!!!
Keep only enough power on to hold the boat up to the bow stop, no more.
Have your helper clip the hook on the eye and crank it snug. back off the power gently, turn off, tilt up, pull out.

What about loading it alone? I wish there was some way to rig some type of rope or something on the front of the boat and lasso it to the trailer while im power loading. it does seem danerous to try to put the hook on the eye alone

I have a bunk trailer. I do mine alone a lot. Sometimes if I haven't backed the trailer in quite enough I'll leave the throttle on a little, get off the bow, attach the hook on the D ring and winch it up the last few inches with the engine thrust forward helping it move, then back to the console to shut everything down and trim up.

leave the trottle on!, but practice!

Get an electric winch. Power loading washes out the sand from below the concrete slabs, and makes a sandbar behind the ramp so you cant use it at low tide.
