So I bought a Furuno MFD12, DFF1, gps antenna, and have a sirius marine weather deal already... did you install your own? I'm planning on flushmounting the chartplotter, I've got 2 satellite antennas to run, and I'm definetly paying someone to do the transducer thruhulls. How hard is it to mount the display? Or should I just leave the fiberglass cutting to a pro, and do the wiring myself (I have done countless watertight wiring setups for computer before on US warships so that part I'm pretty comfortable with.)

I did mine and posted a thread about it, it's not to bad, I used a jigsaw for cutting out the displays, I had the hard top guy pull the wire for my array when i got the hard top done, but did the rest of it myself, just got my transducer today, airmar b-164, that thing is big, I'm kinda sketched about boring a 3 and whatever inch hole in my hull but that's what it takes so it must be done, Sounds to me like you've got some experience I would imagine you should be fine......Measure twice cut once and err on the side of caution as it's harder to but it back then it is to take it away.....

I installed the MFD 12, DFF1, GPS, Sirius,2nd 15"monitor, hookup and mount for PC, antennas, radar and B260 myself. I took my time read everything 3x, measured everything probably 6x and cut 1x on everything. The install went very clean and everything worked the way it's supposed to.
Of course I do most of my own boat rigging and servicing and have for years. I get great pleasure out of doing it plus in the end I have very intimate knowledge of where everything is and how it's wired.
If you're detail oriented and mechanically inclined I would say go for it. You won't regret it.

Where did everyone mount the DFF1/Sirius/etc? I was thinking of making a shelf in my console... don't want to have stuff get stacked on top, and don't trust 3 screws to hold that 5 lb brick in place on the inside-side of the console

I mounted all my stuff in the electronics compartment of my 305. There was a shelf area behind the console that holds the MFD etc. All my stuff fit neatly up there. It was tight and is certainly maxed out but it fit.
Sounds like your best option might be a shelf. Either that or thru bolt the DFF1 Sirius receivers. Stainless screws with finish washers and well caulked will work great and look nice.

I guess I could cram all my stuff in the ebox, but there'd be little room for anything else... I've got a large "dead space" right behind where the MFD12s will be mounted that I'd like to utilize but I'd have to mount things on the bottom of a flat piece of fiberglass... which I'm unsure if it will hold up to years of pounding with only 3 little wood screws holding it there. I suppose I could mount it flat on a shelf, but then water might get on it from time to time, and I'd have to put some sort of cage over it to protect it from crap falling on it.
