Does the color of the kayak make a difference to the fish?
Never kayak fished only a canoe a long time ago and want to get into it since it is the only boat I can afford at the moment.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I have a green yak, two yellow, and one orange.
Haven't noticed a difference.
For the most part, they look up and see a silhouette.

For safety reasons I picked up a yellow, a red and a red and yellow just so I can be seen by the others at a distance but if you're doing back water near shore it does not matter.

As far as the fish go, I don't think it matters a bit. A huge consideration is to be as visible as possible. In this area, assholes in airboats fly through the marsh and small creeks and yaks are mighty vulnerable. If you have problems on big water, being highly visible would sure help. That being said, my primary yak is granite.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I also have one of those orange flags on a pole like kids have on bikes, mounted on the stern.

I have two yaks I fish often. A Ride 135 and a Hobie outback. One red and other sand. I have reds bump into me in both yaks. I do have a orange bladed paddle that I use to flag fast boaters with. Air boats and fast boats in creeks can come upon you fast as mentioned in a previous post. Be safe and wear a PFD always.

All sound advice - the colors are a lot more important for people than they are for the fish.
