I'm planning on driving from Boone, NC to Deerfield Beach, FL.
I want to bring a kayak and fish along the way. I have 4wt fly rods, a 4 lb spinning rig and a baitcaster with 12 lb test. I may bring an 8 wt as well for when I get further southeast.
I want to come south thru Asheville then head southeast. I'll probably spend 3 nights, 4 days on this trip. I've never been thru most of that area so I'm looking for some advice.
Good spots to put in? Waterfront lodging? Tackle, bait?? Rivers, lakes, coastal, backcountry? "Must Eat At" places? "Must See or Do"?
I'm also to make the trip back to Boone in August, so there's no need for me to try to see or do it all on the trip south.
