My 1 year old Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 has a hole, possibly even multiple holes, in the hull. Any ideas about how much a repair will cost and how long it will take?

Wow... how did that happen? I have a 4 year old Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 and I have beat the hell out of it over the years, but while it has scratches it has no holes in the hull.
You may be able to repair it yourself... here's a link to their "repair" page:

I have no idea how it happened. I got it as my 19th birthday present last year. I was lifeguarding the bay beach and my dad rolled up in it to give it to me. It took on a lot of water then (which caused his cell to break). We just figured it flooded cause he's not what you'd call skinny. I took it out fishing in the ocean not too long ago and once again it took on a lot of water. I figured it was because it was a rough day and I might have rolled it.... twice (at least the fishing pole stayed in the rod holder) After I got home and let it dry, I looked at the bottom and it was all dinged up. I then elevated the kayak flooded the front compartment. Didn't take long for water to start pouring out. I never drag it so I can only assume incompetent people damaged it while loading it into my dad's truck.

Did you see where the water was flooding out of? Actually see the holes?
If you didn't actually see holes with water coming out it may be the drain plug..... are you sure the drain plug at the end is screwed in properly? They are plastic and if not screwed in properly water could get in that way. Also, the drain plug should have an O ring on it.... maybe they forgot the O ring on yours... might want to check that too :)

Drain plug was the first thing I checked. There are definitely holes. I flipped it over and there were some deep scratches on the bottom. When I elevated the entire kayak and flooded the front compartment with a hose, water was rapidly coming out through the bottom of the hull. Not a good sign...

I'm really surprised to hear this as the kayaks are meant to take a beating. Mine came home from the store in the back of my ex's truck.. no problems. My sister recently bought one and she lugs it around in the back of her truck (she's not the best at tying down either so it really moves around) and she has no holes either. I doubt the guys loading it could have put those holes in it.
I'm wondering if it was a return to the store and possibly the holes were made by someone else who didn't know what they were doing and ran over some rocks in shallow water.
Anyhow.... it's a year later so not like you can return it now. Did you check out the link to Sea Kayak's repair page I put in a previous post on this thread? I'm thinking you can easily repair these holes. Good luck :)

So I found out what did my kayak in... The dolly they sold me was too narrow and when it went on for the first time, it must have been jammed in pretty good to hold the kayak. Believe it or not, thats what caused the hole. If I have time this weekend I'm going to fix it
