Looking at a garmin 168 combo gps/ff is rated at 150 watt, what will this read for depth accuratly? I'm not canyon fishing for tuna just 20 miles out max for what ever is around. Space on my consel is limited to say the least, so is $ so a combo unit is needed. I like the 178c but it's around 900$ with antena and ducer and the 168 is around 550 with all. I really need advice on this one! :o

Poems, short stories, etc. Old Man and the Sea is my Garmin 188c 's favorite.

seems to me that you could get a 160 or 240 to do the depthfinding and they are really cheap right now. Find a place to put one of them. Then get a GPS as a separate unit.
150 watts is not alot of power....even the 160 has 400 watts.

If you get a 500 watter, it will be able to read war and peace.
