I'm new to kayaking and looking at the Tarpon 120. Noticed the Ride 135 and wanted to see if anyone had experience with the Ride.
Looks like it would be very stable, but not sure if that affects ease of paddling
I'm 6-3, 200# and will be mostly be rec paddling with a little fishing in protected areas
Thanks

From a fishing standpoint, I'd go with the Ride. I fish out of a Ride and an OK Big Game, and I love the space that each has to offer while fishing. The Ride is very stable, I can stand and fish out of mine. However, I've never paddled a Tarpon, so I can't compore the two. I can only tell you that the Ride is a great kayak.
Have you checked out Native as well? They track great, are easy to paddle, have great seats, and have a wide open layout that is great for rec paddling as well as fishing.

Going to test both next weekend. The kids WS Ripper (8', 250# capacity) just doesn't cut it for my image

I have a Ride and used it for 2 years. I have fished the flats and 2 miles off the beach in the ocean. It is stable and I throw a cast net out of it to catch bait. You can't go wrong with a ride. The Tarpon's are a little narrower and paddle easier but for stability and room the ride is my favorite. Only the Pro Angler by Hobie is much larger and more comfortable.
