Bought a new radar last year, but held off installing it b/c I knew it would take a good bit of time to reinstall all of the antennas and I didn't want to tackle it during the season.

The old top consisted of a white Weblon top layer sewn to a navy blue sunbrella bottom layer. The Weblon had lost all elasticity and would not stay tight.

the new top is Sunbrella Supreme which is supposed to have some type of water impervious material sewn b/t the top and bottom lays of THE fabric to keep it from leaking.

What are the little rectangular velcro-d openings for?

How tight is the new top?

Looks nice, let us know what you think of that supreme. I am about ready to redo my top and would like a little better water repellance than the current Sunbrella.

Dear Shin-Dig,

Greetings from Sunbrella fabrics! Just a short note to thank you for posting your boat and the top and mentioning our Sunbrella Supreme fabric. With Sunbrella technology on top and bottom, you are definitely covered against mother nature.

With Best Regards,

Mr. Robinson

@ Lazy Bones,

Greetings from Sunbrella. Great question you asked. There is a big difference in regular Sunbrella and Sunbrella Supreme. Both are made of Sunbrella yarn technology, so very performance oriented.

Regular Sunbrella is highly, highly water resistant. Yet, it also breathes. This makes it perfect for bow covers, full enclosures, mooring covers, etc.

Sunbrella Supreme is 20x more water resistant. This is a huge increase, and enough for us to say it is virtually waterproof. There will be seam leakage before any water comes through Supreme fabric. The trade-off is breathability. If you have a full enclosure with Supreme, you'll need to vent it properly. However in this T-Top application, breathability is not an issue.

We launched Supreme over 4 years ago, and it is successfully used all over USA, to the Caribbean, to UK, to Australia and more!

For more information, please visit our website: www.sunbrella.com

Thanks for the support.

Best Regards.

I plan to have ScarabChris convert these, but I bought a Engel refrig/freezer at the Miami show and broke my budget

Billy Freeman hates me for spending money on other stuff:grin:

Looks great. And I was going to comment on the spreaders. Thats what happenes when you upgrade something, everything close to that upgrade starts looking old. I don't do the conversions anymore. I have my own line of spreader now. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
