Whats with the hand pump in pic #10? I'm assuming its a waste tank pump. But why not a macerator pump operated by a switch. Who wants to stand over that poo tank and manually pump the pee and poop left by all your fishing buddys?

Good point, I was wondering the same thing. And why not trim some of the extra hose as well.

How do you keep the deck clean with all those crevices everywhere ? The crap that would get trapped in there would drive me crazy.

It's worth it, the crevices are wide enough that it's not that big of a deal, stuff sprays right out. Hatches without the tunnels around them on the other hand, are a PAIN to clean as all the crap wedges in.

I am guessing that is a manual bilge pump in pic 10? Maybe it can get the rest of the water out of the bilge thats left after the auto bilge shuts off? The holding tank and pump is starboard of the hand pump.

It would be a good option to have if you were dead in the water with no power.

Or maybe its a manual pump for the fish box drains. Macerators tend to clog.

Looks like its sitting on top of the freshwater tank. Perhaps its an emergency bilge pump, the extra coiled up hose might be to get the hose over the side of the boat. Or perhaps its the inlet side to be able to reach places that might hold bilge water, like outside of the stringers. Any other ideas? Maybe Reggie knows.

I heard the pump is for the long smuggling operations to refuel from the 55 gallon barrels strapped to the deck.

No better pump than a man up to his waist in water with a manual whale pump or 5 gallon bucket.

Is it me or what?I just can't get over on all the cc boats that the battery switches are that low to the deck and out in the open.Myself,I run the hell out of the washdown system when blood hits the deck. All those channels in the deck is a trap every time someone drops something to me.

A lot of boats have those type of channels so that all the in floor boxes will have a big lip to stop water from going in and drain all that water out the back.

Jim, I would like to inquire about the Bristol Harbor Boats deal you have going on right now... If they are Free until May, be a Gem and send two of em' on up to Rhode Island would ya?? Tell ya what, I'm in a good mood, I'll chip in for the shipping fees if you like.

I will agree that sometimes the channels can be a pain to keep clean. However, its nice to always have dry feet, the floor storage and fish boxes stay dry, and the channels on the Fountains are wide and they get water out of the boat in a hurry.

Prockvoan, I've never had an issue with the battery switch location. I have always thought there in an ideal location and they are rarely get wet. Plus, they are in an easy place to reach for the captain when he is starting or shutting down the engines. I never directly spray the dash area anyways. I usually just use a wet rag to wipe down the dash.

That pilot house is a sweet setup. I can't wait to see a video of the coasties running down some smugglers with that setup, the only problem I see is that it needs 350's. ;) It looks like it would also make a great pilot house for the guys up North.

Nothing against Fountains( they look fast just sitting still) but $355k for a 38 pilot house?? My tax money is spending that much for a 38 Fountain? That seems a little high to me. And here's a question for the Merc guys out there. Again, before someone slings mud at me, I'm not knocking Mercury. But why do they smoke so much at idle? Just about every boat pic I've seen with a merc idling on the back, showed it smoking. Is that just a one time thing when the motors are new, or do they do that throughout their life? Thx

You are seeing steam on the verado exhaust. I would venture that there is much more than meets the eye with that pilot house model.

Its not smoke, its steam. The colder it is the more of it you see.

You'ld turn some heads heading out for cod in April up here w/ that Pilot House for sure. That is a hefty premium vs the CC, but I'm betting that boat has some extra DOD type upgrades that could be stripped down for consumer consumption.

Kevlar/epoxy layup to prevent bullets from irritating the pilot/passengers Plates in the deck for machinegun mounts Magnetic pulse shielding of the electronics and engines This prevents the bad guys from using the same kind of cool toys they have I'm sure that bulletproofing the pilot house is also an option if it is not already that way
This is all the unclassified stuff they most likely have done The secret stuff is priced right up there with the unobtainium and does that really exist stuff they also have available Remember they have a test bed with deep pockets with GHWB and the secret service
