The 33T and 37T are monsters. Don't know about the 37T, but the 33T is a very good riding boat.

Does anyone know who makes the tube rack for the kites?

I have heard that 33 ST will fly with trip 350's

This may be a dumb question by why the "T" and the "ST"?

The T is for tournament and the ST is for the stepped hull tournament version....and did any of y'all at the show see what the price for the 33 ST was?

The T stands for Tournament series. The ST is a Step Tournament. As of now, the 33 is the only stepped hull Contender offers. Who knows what will happen in the future. They offer the 33 in both versions.

great job on the pics and the post - not too be critical but I am pretty sure that the yamaha boat (the Snake Dancer) is a 33t not a 31t.

Their 37T was gorgeous and looked like the ride was solid as well. Saw one blast thru a wake in the cut on Saturday when we were on another boat.

I too would like to know the price on the 33st, and has anyone rode it and can compair the ride to the 33t?

FishDancer

Team FishDancer runs a 2008 33T with twin Verado 300s. During the show we sea trialed the 33ST to try and determine the differences between the two. The ST we sea trialed had twin Yam 350s so it was not apples to apples. The first thing to know is that both are great boats - no one would be disappointed with either. The ST runs a few MPH faster and is a bit more fuel efficient and since the seas were flat during our sea trial we could not determine the difference in running attitude while in tournament type seas. We are so happy with our 33T that the few MPH and some fuel savings is not enough to entice us to change. Overall there is a different ride in a step hull (we used to run a stepped hull) versus a conventional hull. I think it is great that Contender is offering its customers a choice....

Thanks Fish, After fishing the 33t numerous times I was wondering what kind of improvements having the steps made on that particular boat, especially since the 33t is one of my favorites. Is there a significant price difference?

gtrfred
02-18-2009, 11:44 AM
I think the difference in price is only a few $K more. having ridden on both, the ride is different. I would not buy the stepped hull without riding on it, just because you have been on the regular 33T. the boat handles, performs and "feels" different. some things better and some things worse. i have not been on one in rough seas (33TS) so I cannot vouch for it there. I dont know which one i like better - it kinda depends what you are looking for in the boat.

hahaha. i was about to post the same thing. i know they're among the best purely functional fishing machines out there...but they are completely unremarkable to the eye.

i tried to show The Admiral a 27 cuddy when we were shopping last year, we pulled up to the lot and she took one look at it and wouldn't even get out the car. haha.

Personally I think that it is a great looking boat made for one thing and one thing only and that is fishing. To each their own looks like a great boat and hope they do well with it. Ill tell you a ugly boat and that's the new whalers!! They really went backwards a few decades.

I have just bought that boat. First Triple 33 TS with Yamaha F-350's. I really thought the 350 V-Rods would push this boat faster, however the Yamaha are about 4 MPH faster! I am geeting about &8 out of mine right now, however I just got confirmation that in April Yamaha will have a new 4 blade for the 350's that will be even stronger. I'll keep you posted!

Very Well Said! The two boats are brothers, however there is differences! I rode both and purchased the 33 ST. Each person likes differnt things. That's why there are so many GREAT boat builders! Vanilla isn't the only favor at Baskin Robbins!

It might just be me but I it looks like the console on the 37 is to far forward. Maybe just the camera angle?

I can't seem to get a straight answer on this, everybody I talk to seems to have a different answer...

Do any of yall know if forward seating is an option on the 37??

I did just as much cruising around with friends on my 31 then I did fishing, and it got to be a problem when nobody could sit and all the girls wanted to go on some other guys boats haha. I talked to somebody at Contender, but she couldn't seem to help me, and 2 dealers told me two different things, so I was hoping somebody would know. I don't want to leave Contender just becasue of seating, but I've got one eye on the Reg 34 and the other still really wanting a Contender.

Contender along with most other boat builders starts building new model year boats in June, which means construction on 2010 model year boats will begin next month.

But rumors are going around that due to slow sales, with a lot of inventory still on dealers lots, Contender will not start building 2010 boats until around December of this year.

Anyone else hear this? ;?

I think this is true of most builders.

Does anybody knows any CONTENDER dealers in or near Miami. I would like to get a quote on the new 35 SIDE CONSOLE. I cannot find any dealers in Miami. Does the factory sells direct?

They have been there forever, and I believe are Contender's largest dealer. Ask for Gary - he is the owner. And no, the factory does not sell direct.
