You can also call 511 on your cell phone free.
They have a voice prompt for traffic on specific roads and counties.

It is funny you say that. The first time we went to the boat show, we took a cab from the airport. The cab driver was chatting and told us he had just finished taking a guy to get his heroin fix.

:o

Needless to say, that was the last cab ride we ever took

My advice to the non locals that will be at the show.

DO NOT DRIVE! Use a taxi, walk, use a bus - whatever. Just do not drive. People from out of town that do not understand the unique Miami road rules (like for example - when it is OK to run a red light) all you do is clog traffic up worse.

Miami isn't the right place to living, is expensive, is dramatic, our traffic is the worst, so many times looks a platanito town, our politics are the worst, the marinas meet a lot of guys with no discline at the ramps, but after all Miami is so big and every body is wellcome........and enjoy our Boat Show!!!

I've uploaded the new software into my horn, everything should be fine for the trip now:

Problem now is how do I drop a Power Wagon 16 inches?

That's easy, just park it on a side street and leave it a while.

See? Thats what I am talking about. And Wiley is in Broward County - just to the north of Miami-Dade!

"La Cucaracha" is a MEXICAN folk song. If you have a musical car horn it should play "Guantanamera". A proper Cuban folk song.

Other examples of Miami rules include "the three car rule". Quite simply, this rule states that when you are in a left turn lane that has a traffic arrow signal - then the arrow turns red THREE MORE CARS can safely run it. At the least. Other cars will start moving, but they will not (usually) hit you - for they know the rule.

If you are hit, chances are good it is not a local that is driving the other car. It is someone from out of town.

There are many more I could get into, like the "turn signals are for pansies rule" and the "working brake lights are optional rule" - but that is too advanced to get into here.

Bottom line is this. Out of towners make traffic worse. So us locals would prefer you not attempt to drive :)

As for me - I will NOT be attempting to drive anywhere near any show location. I park at the American Airlines Arena downtown then take the free shuttle bus to the convention center. Parking at the arena is $10 - which really is a good deal. The bus is free - so you can even use public transportation (EG the metrorail / metromover - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE A CITY BUS AS NOT EVEN THE LOCALS CAN DECIPHER BUS ROUTE MAPS), then walk to the free bus area at the arena or bayside.

There is a metromover station located across the street from Bayside by the way.

Yeah, but "La Cucaracha" is funnier and more recognizable.

Gotta know how to work the crowd.

Every year it is the same parking/driving stress, what's the big deal? For the last 5 years I have gone to the show I have always driven there and 4 out of 5 I have been able to park in the garage right next to the show at $10(?) arriving at the center arround 9:40 on saturday. Everything is well marked with mobile signs..

For those that reserved out of Miami Beach the parking at American Airlines Arena is only $10. From there to the MBCC take a free shuttle courtesy of Raymarine. Every year I used, no more parking headaches.

Kingair: do you see the map for the Art Festival???, I posted for you.....enjoy, after all I feel a compromise for all the peoples like you that put in the line of fire their lives defending our freedom!
