Want a 2 man kayak for me and my young son. I have never been in one. We will mostly just paddle around but might fish too.

What is a peddle drive? How fast? Is it a primary means of locomotion or is it like a trolling motor?

Thinking about a sit in since most 2 man seem to have one large opening so flipping should not be an issue.

Looked at some at LL Bean a Loon I think.

Any help appreciated.

I would look hard at some of the sit atop kayaks. I have had both, and i really preffer them to the sit ins for fishing. Alos, on longish paddles in open water with my son, i would rather pull him back on then worry about fliping and pumping out the loon.

You have some gread kayak fishing at linhaven.

Craigs List has great deals on used boats.
