He skiis great but wants to wakeboard. I'm thinking of having a local ski charter give him lessons. $$$$ What do you think? to young?

If he wants to I would not let age stop you,(either of you). Since you want to learn also definately go with a qualified instructor. Have a blast.

Two of my boys started wakeboarding at 7. My third started at age 8. I think wakeboarding has the same safety issues as skiing. I would go with an instructor for a few lessons. After that, you should not have any problems.

Saw in your sig you are from FL. But you might consider Coble Ski School in NC for instructions or even better a week of "camp". I heard it's a real nice orginization with good instructors.

Seven is a great age to learn. Wake surfing is fun also. My son and I started wakeboarding when he was 15 and I was 47 !
