I have been having problems with my raw water wash down since I bought the boat in 05. I have brought the boat back in for servicing but it never seems to work well. It use to blow the breakers all the time. Now it doesn't have any pressure at all, thats even if it works.
It also smells terrible at first use. I figure its from the water thats sitting in the hose between trips?
Any suggestions?

Check all the lines for caulking or debri. Sometimes kinks or twists make it hard for the pumps to perform correctly. If all that is good, change the pump to a larger model.

What Kind of pump?
The smell is stagnant sea water sitting in there. Thats normal.
If you are blowing breakers constantly, Have the wiring checked for a short.
Is the boat still under warranty? If so Scout has great customer service. Have the pump replaced. Thepump could be bad. Does the breaker blows after its' under a load for a period of time or does it pop imediately after switching the pump on? This would indicate 2 different problems.

Does it draw water through a seacock? Is it open ? All the way open ? Is there a filter or screen that might be clogged?
It's a pretty simple system; pump sucks water in, then pushes it out. For the water part, the valves have to be open and the lines large enough and clear. For the pump part, the pump has to have proper electrical power and the pump has to be functional.

The smell is caused by decaying junk in seawater stuck in the line. I keep mine on a trailer and will run the pump for a few seconds when the boat is out of the water to get it out of the lines so I don't get hit with sewage smell next time.
What brand is the pump? If it is Flow Jet or Shur Flo I would just throw it away and buy a different brand but that is just me. :)
If your not flushing after use with fresh water, than I have to ask, are your cleaning the intake screen?

My many years of troubleshooting in several different areas has taught me that it's far more effective and less costly to determine the problem rather than just replacing parts until the problem goes away. ;)
