The Boating Forum - Reliable Fishing Charts

Where do you get them ???? I'm looking for the Clearwater Area (I'd say Sarasota to New Port Richie, including Tampa Bay). Are there any sold online that I could order that you'd recommend ?

If you have a Bass Pro or good tackle store they should carry a topspot chart. I picked on up on a recent keys trip and it worked great.

If it's for fishing, I would get either a Top Spot for the area or Waterproof Chart #5F. Both cover roughly from Anna Maria to Steinahatchee(sp?) and have some decent starting coordinates for fishing.
West Marine, Boaters World or your local tackle shop should have them.
I do NOT recommend Florida Sportsman charts if you're looking for offshore numbers. Just my humble opinion.

I don't know much about the area yet since I just moved here a few months ago, but if you have any fishing questions fire away and I'll try to answer.

While we're at it does anybody know of fishing maps for the U.S. Virgin Islands/Caribbean? I checked Hook-N-Line (formerly known as Top Spot) and Fish-N-Maps but struck out so far. Any hints would be appreciated.

You need to qualify whether you are looking for Navigation Charts or Fishing Charts.

If you are looking for fishing charts Captain Seagull's makes nice water proof charts and they give gps coords for known fishing grounds. Google them for their web site.
