Gulf Coast - 2008 Red Phillips Mullet Run Invitational

I just decided to name our get together after my fishing buddy Red. For those of you that made it down last year you know how it works. For the rest of you it's not really a tournament and everyone is invited. There's no entrance fee and no prizes.

We will be at Venice Marina again this year. The dates we're looking at are Oct. 25-26. LSU is scheduled to be at home that weekend so if enough of you want to make the trip for another date speak up now. Only one other event is on the calendar during Oct. and it's Oct.11. Ya'll come on down!

I'll try to make it if y'all will lower your standars and allow me to make it. Now I just need to find a boat that will run that I can get on :o

Maybe Jim will let you ride with him. You can hook up the cable next time he tries to use his boat like a log skidder! :jk:

Boomer, I will put it on my calendar and see if I can interest a couple of friends. Do not want to drag my boat just for a long weekend though so if me and two others come down do you think we can get on a boat and share expenses with the other fishermen on board, the boat owner never is included in expense sharing. I'm sure we can find you a ride. Might have to split you up depending on how many boats show up. We had a pretty good crowd last year and hope to have a bigger one this year.

I'm in and can probably bring a couple of extra guys on my boat. Venice aught to be great either of those dates.

Commercial mullet season opens Monday and the moon looks pretty good.

Don't know if I can make it or not.Got a trip plan that month to Ky for a week or so.I will find out soon enough.If I do come down and drag my boat,I will need 3-4 people.Anybody bring there wife?

Mine will be at home unless you want a moody 8 month pregnant woman on your boat! haha

Did you use Eddie?

Not sure about eddie but the shop is right past the entrance to the military base on 23. Next to the water tower. Good guys. I have the # if anyone needs some work done.

Glad to hear that Jim.Still don't know if I will be down in Oct yet.Yesterday my wife and I found out that she has a big med problem.Don't look so good as of now.She has a bunch of more test that has to go down today.
