Basically you will need to buy the furuno 000-117-603, NMEA Cable. This cable will will allow you to interface with your GPS. Although it has 6 wires you will only need to use two of the NMEA wires from your GPS. The cable runs any where from $25-$40. I saw one on ebay that sold for $26 last week. Just type Furuno and the part number on Yahoo and you will find a bunch of places selling them. Hope this helps,
pete

Another side note when hooking up the 1622 to your GPS The furuno cable wires you will use are as follows:
green = NMEA input (-) -connect this to your NMEA output (-) NMEA ground always generally the green wire (Same as the DSC in VHF )
Yellow = NMEA input (+) connect this to you NMEA output (+) which is the same you would hook up your DSC in your VHF radio
Once this is connected turn on GPS and Radar. Go to the menu and turn on the nav option from the menu. The NAV box will appear at the lower portion of your radar. It is really cool becasue you can pick up your way points on the radar too.
Hope this helps,
Pete
