I am still doing research for my 1st yak to be used in saltwater creeks and inlets and am leaning toward the Drifter Angler or the Prowler Big Game Angler by Ocean Kayaks. Are these good choices as far as quaility and ease of use for a 6'2 240 lb. novice yakker?
I will do a search but wanted some fresh input.

Probably. I have a Caper (the little brother of the Drifter) and am really happy with it. I got that one because my wife was very comfortable in it, I can use it too, and it was smaller/lighter than the other one I was looking. This made it more portable and as a side benefit more maneuverable. I have plans to get the Prowler 13 to use as my main fishing yak when I get the next one.

From what I can tell it's not near as fast as the P13, but I really don't do long distance deals. The most I have done is 10miles total, and that included a lot of towing my son in his yak. The Drifter and the Game are stable platforms.

The suggestion I always see is try before you buy. I rented 4 or 5 before I bought mine. The shop took a large portion of the rental fees off of the purchase price.

They're great. I own a Frenzy, a Malibu II and a Prowler 13 ( my fishing machine)

JUST LIKE POTATOES CHIPS...YOU JUST CAN'T HAVE ONE.
