Shipyard Isl. Marine Engine Parts - Blinking Oil Idiot Light F115?

I was out yesterday and engine was running fine, all the sudden I look down and the oil idiot light on my tach is blinking. Everything was fine with the motor operationally. Engine was peeing, etc. When I go to the sandbar I popped the cowling off and checked the oil. Was plenty in there (maybe too much, actually). This was at 98 hours.

The next time I fired the engine no idiot light. To my knowledge it did not come back on the entire day/night. Boat ran fine until I took it out of the water. Now I'm at 102 hours.

I pulled out my manual this morning and it really isn't helpful. It just says its low oil pressure warning light.

I'm going in for a 100 hr service next week and will mention it to them. I was wondering if anyone else had an issue like this or has any ideas on what may have caused this? Should I not run the boat next weekend until I get it checked out, even if the light is not on now?

I have seen that a few times ona fewF115's. Not sure what it is......was the engine in rpm reduction mode or just the light on the tach?

Mention it to the dealer for sure.

Andy - Just the light. All performance, sounds, etc. were normal.

On my F115 I'll get the same thing if I start it too quickly after tilting the motor down from the fully up position. Especially in the morning when its cold. If I wait 10 seconds the oil has a chance to run down in the pan and the warning light will not come on.

When I'm in too big of a hurry in the morning and end up with the warning light, if I stop and then restart the motor its fine.
