I am just getting into the Yak thing and was thinking about used until I find the perfect fishing model. Can anyone tell me where to start looking for a used yak.

Check Craigslist ads. I'll bet if you Google South Carolina or North Carolina Kayak Club, you can find a club in your area that has a forum with classified ads. Go to www.kayakfishingstuff.com and check out the classifieds on their forum. Finally, check with your local dealers. They often have a used or demo boat, or know of clubs or others who might get you headed in the right direction.

Ive been seling and rigging fishing kayaks for 20 years. When I see a used one for sale it ususaly is a model that is not very good. People keep good fishing yaks and get rid of lousy ones. Once in awhile you can find a great yak used but if you can afoord to buy new and only after doing demos of all the models you are intrested in. Never buy a kayak without demoing it first. There is a lot of misinformation on the net by guys who have never used anything else but the one they own.
